Our Practice has an extensive Health Care Preventative Medical Service.
Some of these clinics are run by our Practice Nurses and midwives and some by the Doctors. You may be invited by letter to attend these clinics or if you feel you will need to attend then call to book an appointment.

Minor Ailments Scheme The pharmacies below offer treatment without a prescription for a variety of problems including: Emergency Contraception and Head Lice for example. If you get free prescriptions then this service is free. If not then you may need to pay the standard prescription charge.

- The Co-op near Woodsend Roundabout on Moorside Road.
If you need emergency contraception then you should make an appointment at the surgery afterwards to discuss regular contraception.

Fees for Private Services
Some services that GPs provide are not covered by their NHS contract and therefore incur a fee. The fee is based on the amount of work involved and also the professional liability the GP takes onboard, for example by signing a form. The BMA has written more here about fees in General Practice.
